The residential structure was valued at Rs two crore, the spokesman said.

He said the action is part of the police’s sustained crackdown against drug trafficking and narcotics-related crimes under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan.

The accused is involved in multiple NDPS cases registered at Awantipora and Budgam, the spokesman said.

He said Tasaduq’s spouse, Sheikh Maroofa, is also involved in an NDPS case registered at Pulwama.

During a comprehensive inquiry and verification of the assets owned and possessed by the accused, it was established that the three-storeyed concrete structure had been raised over encroached state land and was allegedly constructed from proceeds generated through illicit narcotics trafficking, the spokesman said.

The action has also resulted in the recovery of valuable government land worth crores of rupees from illegal occupation, he added.

The investigation has also found that the property constituted illegally acquired assets and represented the financial gains derived from unlawful narcotics activities, apart from being an unauthorised encroachment on state land, the spokesman said.

Upon completion of all requisite legal formalities and in accordance with due process of law, the structure was demolished in the presence of the revenue authorities, he added.

In Awantipora also, police in coordination with the civil administration, demolished an “illegally constructed” commercial property comprising two shops and a cowshed belonging to a “notorious” drug peddler, Nisar Ahmad Khanday of Katipora, Chersoo.

The demolition was carried out in the presence of the Tehsildar Awantipora, other Revenue officials, and police officers after following due legal procedures.

The accused has been involved in multiple NDPS cases and is a known offender involved in narcotics related activities, police spokesperson said.

In yet another development, police in Anantnag has attached a single-storey residential house belonging to one Mohammad Yousuf Hajam of Panchalthan Chatergul under the provisions of Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act.

The attached property has been identified as “illegally acquired property linked to proceeds generated through narcotic drug trafficking”. The action has been taken in connection with Case FIR No. 42/2026 registered under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Utrasoo, in which the accused is involved, police said.

In Sopore as well, police attached immovable property worth ₹22,49,046 belonging to a “notorious” drug peddler under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

The attached property belongs to Suhail Ahmad Zargar alias Lala, resident of Behrampora, Rafiabad, who has been involved in narcotics trafficking and related activities.

During the course of investigation and financial scrutiny, police established that the attached property had been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking. Accordingly, the property was identified and attached in accordance with the provisions of law, police said.
