Srinagar: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers at SIDCO Lassipora.
Sharing details, a police spokesperson said that during checking at SIDCO Lassipora, police intercepted a Tata Mobile (bearing registration No. JK13C-7361) driven by Ishfaq Majeed Wani of Mughalpora Cherath, Pulwama, along with co-passenger Reyaz Ahmad Wani, a resident of Looswani, Newa Pulwama.
During the search, approximately 17.5 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the possession of Ishfaq Majeed Wani and 31 grams from the possession of Reyaz Ahmad Wani, making a total recovery of 48.5 grams. The contraband substance along with the vehicle used in the commission of the offence was seized on the spot.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Litter and investigation has been set into motion.
