Srinagar: Police on Monday said they have arrested seven drug peddlers in separate actions in Sopore, Anantnag and Pulwama districts.
A police spokesperson informed that Faisel Majeed Mir of Janwara, and Naseer Ahmad Lone of Hathlangoo were arrested at Janwara Crossing after psychotropic substance Alprazolam tablets were recovered from their possession.
One Umar Javaid Tugoo of Noorbagh Sopore was arrested at Shalimar Colony Sopore.
In Anantnag, approximately 1.442 kilograms of contraband substance in crushed form was recovered from one Jahangir Ahmad Khan of Hallan Nowbugh at in Sirgan-Hallan crossing, following which he was arrested.
In Pulwama, police arrested a motorcyclist (whose identity was not revealed) near Block Office Lassipora after 204 grams of cannabis sticks-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigation, police said.
