POONCH: The District Administration Poonch and Poonch Police on Sunday organised a friendly cricket match at the Sports Stadium under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) to promote fitness, sportsmanship and awareness against drug abuse.
The match, played between DC XI and SSP XI, witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials and spectators. Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma and SSP Shafqat Hussain Bhat also participated in the game, encouraging youth to adopt healthy and disciplined lifestyles.
Batting first, SSP XI posted 149 runs in 20 overs. In response, DC XI successfully chased the target to register an impressive seven-wicket victory.
Dr. Jontay was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 56 runs, while Pervaiz Malik Afridi contributed 46 runs and Pawan Kumar added 27 runs to guide DC XI to victory.
The programme concluded with the message: “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”
