KPDCL announces scheduled power shutdowns

Srinagar: Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, on Saturday announced scheduled power shutdowns in several parts of Kashmir in view of maintenance and related works on various transmission lines.

According to the department, shutdown of the 33 KV Wanganpora-BAMK line and 33 KV Wanganpora-Khanyar line will be observed on May 14, 2026, due to which power supply to Shanglipora, Danimar, Sangam, Miskeen Bagh, Rozabal, Maqdoom Sahab, Hazari Bagh, Jogi Lankar, JLNM Hospital, Kondabal, Hasanabad and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Nowpora line will affect power supply to Seelu, Behrampora, Nowpora, Achabal, Bomain, Bugoo and adjoining areas from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on May 12, 2026.

The department further informed that shutdown of the 132 KV Lisser line will impact power supply to Hiller, Kokernag and Dooru from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on May 14, 2026.

Likewise, shutdown of the 132 KV Mattan line will affect electricity supply to Achabal, Gopalpora and Pahalgam from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on May 14, 2026.

In another scheduled shutdown, the 132 KV IRCON-I line will remain shut on May 14, due to which power supply to GSS Qazigund of Northern Railways will be affected from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

Meanwhile, the Chief Engineer informed that the previously announced shutdown of the 33 KV Habak–Zakura line scheduled for May 11, 2026, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm has been cancelled.
