Officials said the Commanding Officer of the 176 CRPF and other officers also participated in the programme and encouraged the students and participants.

Meanwhile, an awareness programme was organised at Government High School Isham through Police Post Uroosa under the supervision of SDPO Uri. The programme aimed to sensitise students and local residents about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and drug-free life.

The event was attended by SHO Uri, DO Uroosa, school staff, students and members of the local community.

During the programme, speakers highlighted the health, social and economic consequences of substance abuse and stressed the need for collective action to eliminate the growing menace.

Students actively participated through speeches, interactive discussions and awareness activities, while also pledging to spread awareness among their peers, families and communities.

Police officials appreciated the enthusiasm shown by students and reiterated the importance of sustained awareness initiatives in building a drug-free society.

Following the programme, an awareness rally was organised from Village Chakra to Isham, with active participation of students and local residents, further amplifying the anti-drug message among the general public.
