Sopore: Police in Sopore have announced a cash reward of ₹10,000 for information leading to the arrest of an accused evading arrest in a narcotics case, officials said.
According to a hue and cry notice issued by the Station House Officer of Police Station Sopore, the accused has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Mir alias Ashu, son of Farooq Ahmad Mir, a resident of Jamia Qadeem presently residing at Krankshivan Colony in Sopore.
Police said the 32-year-old is wanted in connection with FIR No. 23/2026 registered under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Sopore.
The notice describes him as having a fair complexion, strong build, height of around 5 feet 6 inches, black hair, and fluency in Urdu and Kashmiri.
Officials said proceedings under Sections 84 and 85 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) are being initiated against him.
Police urged the public to share credible information, assuring that the identity of informers will be kept confidential.
