Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Budgam and Shopian and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
A police spokesperson informed that one Fairoz Ahmed Sheikh of Sugen Khag was arrested near Sugen crossing in Budgam after a cannabis-like substance concealed in corn husks, was recovered from his possession.
In Shopian, police arrested Ghulam Hyder Khan of Wachohallan Imamsahib, after 60 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession during routine checking at Baskuchan crossing. Upon search, 60 grams charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and for further investigation in both these instances, police said.
