Bhung cultivation destroyed in Bandipora, Ganderbal

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in its drive “War against drugs” destroyed contraband cultivation in Bandipora and Ganderbal.

In a statement police said that on the directions of SSP Bandipora, a police party of Police Post Nowgam headed by Division Officer under the supervision of SDPO Sumbal along with civil society members destroyed bhung cultivation spread on about 30 kanals of land in Check Ganstan, Ankhloo, Rakhi Shilvat and adjoining areas of Nowgam Sumbal.

Local people of the area especially youth appreciated this action of police and have hoped that the drive should continue in the district, said the statement.

Meanwhile, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal, police destroyed bhung cultivation in the areas of Police Post Shadipora.

The drive was carried out by police party of Police Post Shadipora headed by DO PP Shadipora in Gund-i-Roshan, Khan Mohalla and Dar Mohalla areas under the supervision of DySP Hqrs.

The locals of the area hailed Ganderbal police for this step in eradicating the menace of drugs.
