11 drug peddlers held across Kashmir

Srinagar: Police have arrested 11 drug peddlers in various parts of valley and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police spokesperson informed that in Anantnag, police arrested Mohammad Yousuf Hajam of Panchalthan Chatergul at Tanjmulla Chatergul crossing and recovered 1.6 kg of cannabis powder-like substance from his possession.

One Akash Ahmad Dar of Bun Mohalla Anchidora was arrested after 26 grams of cannabis-like substance wrapped in cloth was recovered from him.

At Panzmulla, police arrested Shabir Ahmad Shah of Halwani Ganiegund along with 78 grams of cannabis powder and 9 grams of cannabis pieces.

At Halmullah, one Bashir Ahmad Tramboo of Naina Batapora was apprehended after 4.130 kg cannabis powder-like substance and four sticks of cannabis weighing 56 grams was recovered from him.

Near Public Park Chinkipora in Sopore, police recovered Spasmoproxyvon capsules from Zubair Ahmad Malla of Maharajpora C Sopore, and arrested him. At Shiva Crossing, one Showkat Ahmad Shah of Dooru Sopore was arrested after cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.

In Baramulla, at Nawan Morh Kreeri, police arrested Faizan Mohiudin Wani of Pethgam Wagoora after he was found in possession of psychotropic substances in the form of tablets — Clonazepam – two strips, Zolpidem Tartrate – one strip, Amnurite-P – one strip, D Veniz 100 – one strip, Ventab XL 150 – one strip, Tapentadol HCL – three strips, a total of 87 tablets. His vehicle (JK05Q-1100) was also seized.

In Awantipora, at Seer Colony Khrew road, Razi Mushtaq of Sharshalli was arrested after 1.82 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.

In Pulwama, police arrested two Muran residents — Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and Gulzar Ahmad Darzi – and seized their motorcycle (JK13A-9406) after a cannabis powder-like substance weighing approximately 369.5 grams and another seven grams of cannabis was recovered from their possession.

One Ishfaq Ahmed Joo of Dobipora Khanshaib in Budgam was arrested after approximately 72 grams of cannabis-like substance, concealed in corn husks, was recovered from his possession.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigation, police said.
