Jammu: Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Friday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess security and law and order at the cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi and its base camp town of Katra, and issued specific directions to strengthen the security grid at both locations.
The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP Reasi Mukund Tibrewal, Additional SP Katra Kameshwar Puri, SDPO and SHO Katra, among other officers, officials said.
During the meeting, the DGP outlined a roadmap for the ongoing anti-drug campaign ‘Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’ launched under the directions of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
He directed officers to adopt a stringent approach against drug-related crimes by ensuring prompt registration of FIRs, attachment of properties acquired through narcotics trafficking, and invoking preventive detention laws against habitual offenders.
