PULWAMA: J&K Police on Friday solved a timber theft case in Pulwama district by arresting two accused persons and recovering stolen poplar logs.
According to police, Police Station Litter received a complaint from Wood Venture regarding the theft of poplar logs.
Following the complaint, police registered FIR No. 41/2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and started investigation.
During the investigation, police arrested Imtiyaz Ahmad Gorsee and Ishfaq Ahmad Gorsee.
On their disclosure, stolen poplar logs worth thousands of rupees were recovered and seized.
Police also seized a goods carrier vehicle bearing registration number JK18D-2556, which was allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain whether any other persons were involved in the theft.
