DPEO Kupwara reviews ongoing revision of panchayat electoral rolls in Karnah

KUPWARA: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) (Deputy Commissioner) Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today visited border blocks of Karnah to review the ongoing revision of Panchayat electoral rolls.

During the visit, the DPEO interacted with local residents and field staff to assess the availability of required forms at polling booths across the block for updation of electoral rolls.

He directed the Panchayat Electoral Booth Officers (PEBOs) and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the Assembly electoral rolls to work in close coordination to ensure the preparation of accurate and inclusive electoral rolls.

Emphasizing the importance of inclusivity, the DPEO directed officials to undertake door-to-door verification and registration drives to ensure that no eligible voter is left out. He also stressed the need for an effective IEC campaign to generate mass awareness among the general public regarding the revision process.

The DPEO was accompanied by ERO (SDM) Karnah, Mumtaz Ahmad Peerzada, and AERO for Block Tangdhar and Teetwal, Mudassir Sikander.
