DDC Bandipora flags-off car rally

BANDIPORA, JULY 28: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today flagged-off a car rally for an off-road expedition from mini-secretariat here towards Drass via Gurez valley.

As many as 28 expeditioners from Delhi and Srinagar, travelling in 12 vehicles, are participating in the said voyage, who are scheduled to camp in Gurez for two days.

The expedition has been organized by Kashmir Off Road Shalimar Srinagar.

The DDC, on the occasion, said that the first ever expedition of this kind in Bandipora district will help to promote tourism. He said nature has bestowed the district especially Gurez sub-division with lush green pastures, scenic beauty, adventurous mountains and water bodies including Nallahs and famous Wullar lake which are best attractions for local and foreign tourists.

The DDC assured full support from the district administration for such type of events.
