Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Ganpati said the two were arrested during a search operation in SIDCUL Phase-II on Wednesday after police intercepted a white Swift car without a number plate.

During the search, police recovered two rifles, two pistols, one revolver and 344 cartridges from the vehicle. The accused allegedly told investigators that they intended to conceal the weapons in the Chorgalia forest area. T

According to police, scrutiny of the accuseds’ mobile phone records and bank accounts revealed suspicious financial transactions involving several bank accounts in Jammu and Kashmir, including those linked to Rehan Mir.

Police further said that both Rehan Mir and Harendar Singh are wanted in a case registered by the Delhi Police Special Cell.

The SSP said the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Delhi Police had been informed about the arrests and further information regarding Rehan Mir was being collected.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed that Indrajit Sandhu and Pawan Sandhu were the key operators behind the network. Police said efforts were underway to arrest them.

A case under the Arms Act has been registered and further investigation into the suspected arms smuggling and terror-financing network is underway.
