The plantation drive was inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer of the CIED–IUST Foundation, Prof. Parvez A. Mir, in the presence of Assistant Registrar (Landscaping) Dr. Aijaz Ahmad Qureshi and other members of the Foundation.

Faculty members, officials of the Foundation and students from Government Polytechnic College participated in the programme and planted saplings at different locations across the campus.

The organisers said the initiative was aimed at increasing green cover, promoting biodiversity conservation and improving the overall environment of the campus.

They said the plantation drive was also in line with the objectives of the Green India Mission and sought to encourage environmental awareness among young people.

Officials of the Foundation said similar activities would continue in the future as part of efforts to promote a greener and more sustainable campus.
