Srinagar: Real Kashmir Football Club will take on Chanmari FC under floodlights at the TRC Ground here on Monday in what will be the club’s first evening match of the ongoing Indian Football League season.

Unlike the previous two matches, which began at 4 pm, Monday’s fixture will kick off at 6.30 pm, providing football fans in Kashmir an opportunity to watch an evening contest between the home side and the Mizoram-based team.

Officials said all necessary arrangements have been put in place for the match.

Real Kashmir FC, owned by Arshad Shawl, has struggled to produce the desired results so far in the league despite some encouraging performances.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, RKFC head coach Ishfaq Ahmad said the team was mentally prepared and focused on securing a positive result.

“We need to get the best out of this match,” he said.

Referring to the team’s previous outing, Ishfaq said RKFC had dominated the game but failed to convert its chances.

“We should have scored a couple of goals, but we missed our chances and got punished. Tactically, we were better than the opponent,” he said.

The coach said the team had held detailed discussions after the last match and was ready for the challenge against Chanmari FC.

RKFC player Basit Ahmad also expressed confidence ahead of the encounter.

“We have a strong side, everyone is working hard, and preparations have gone well,” Basit said.

He appealed to football fans to turn up in large numbers and support the team in what he described as an important match.

RKFC will be looking to register an important victory and improve its position in the league standings.
