JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has allowed students from CBSE and other Government-recognised Boards across the country to seek admission in JKBOSE-affiliated institutions for the academic session 2025–26.

An official notification issued by JKBOSE in this regard reads that students who have passed and are otherwise eligible or have appeared in their Class 9th Secondary School Examination (Class 10th), Higher Secondary Part-I (Class 11th) as the case may be, from CBSE or any other Govt. Recognised Board of the country and are desirous to migrate to J&K Board of School Education for seeking admission in its affiliated institutions for the Academic Session 2025-2026 in their next higher classes, i.e., 10th, 11th and 12th respectively will be allowed to do so provisionally on the same analogy as is being done in case of candidates of this organisation (JKBOSE) who appear as Regular candidates.

“The admissions shall be, however, regularised by the concerned Registration Sections (K.D/ JD) and Sub / Branch offices of the JKBOSE subject to production of their pass certificates including other requisite documents of the corresponding qualifying examination(s) conducted by their respective Boards and determination of the eligibility by the J&K BOSE and applicable fee etc, failing which their provisional admission shall be deemed to have been cancelled ab-initio,” the notification reads.

The heads of institutions have also been directed to obtain an undertaking from migrating students acknowledging possible cancellation of admission in case of non-qualification, it adds

JKBOSE further informed that admissions under the eligibility-cum-migration category will remain open till May 21, 2026.

Pertinent to mention, Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo while chairing a review meeting of JKBOSE on 30th March, 2026 had issued strict directions to JKBOSE authorities to streamline migration process of CBSE, other Board students to JKBOSE.
