Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called upon entrepreneurs and distinguished personalities from different fields to work towards making various sectors in Jammu and Kashmir more robust and humane.
Addressing the ‘Big Impact Awards J&K 2026’ organised by 92.7 Big FM in Jammu, the Lieutenant Governor said India is steadily transforming from a consumer-driven economy into a creator-driven one due to the reforms introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
‘India Now an Innovation Superpower’
Sinha said the Prime Minister’s reforms have created an ecosystem in which India has emerged as one of the world’s most dynamic innovation powers.
“Through sweeping reforms, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has fostered an ecosystem where India evolves from consumer to creator. India stands as an innovation superpower, ranking among the world’s most dynamic forces in molding tomorrow’s global economy,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor said the changes being witnessed in India’s industrial and business landscape are not accidental but the result of policy reforms and the dedication of entrepreneurs.
“Revolutionary change in industrial and business ecosystem is not coincidence but the tangible outcome of bold reforms and the relentless dedication of entrepreneurs,” he said.
J&K Entrepreneurs Turned Crisis into Opportunity
Praising entrepreneurs and innovators from Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha said they have shown how crises can be turned into opportunities.
“True entrepreneurship lies in converting crises into opportunities, and I take pride in how Jammu and Kashmir’s entrepreneurs and innovators have exemplified this in action,” he said.
He said the entrepreneurs of the Union Territory have carved a unique identity under the vision of Make in India by expanding production capacity and exploring new markets despite facing difficulties in procuring raw materials.
“In realizing the Make in India vision, our entrepreneurs are carving distinct identities through originality. Despite raw material hurdles, they have expanded production capacities and diversified markets,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor felicitated awardees at the event and urged them to continue contributing towards building a stronger and more prosperous India.
Innovation Requires Persistence, Not One-Time Success
Sinha said innovation is not an isolated or temporary event but a process that demands consistent effort and resilience.
“Innovation is not a fleeting event. Genuine innovation and success stem from persistent effort, a commitment to pressing forward through adversity,” he said.
He also praised those entrepreneurs who, according to him, went beyond business and became examples of social commitment by creating opportunities even during difficult times.
Education Sector Witnessing a New Revolution
The Lieutenant Governor said the education sector has undergone a major transformation after the implementation of the National Education Policy and the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the pandemic had abruptly ended classroom teaching, but teachers, institutions and other stakeholders adapted quickly by creating online learning platforms and extending virtual education even to villages unfamiliar with such tools.
“COVID obliterated physical classes overnight, yet stakeholders united to build education platforms from scratch, train teachers, and extend virtual tools even to villages unfamiliar with them,” he said.
According to Sinha, technology integration, reforms under the National Education Policy and a stronger emphasis on research have laid the foundation for a new system aimed at making India a knowledge economy.
Calls for Inclusion of Farmers and Anti-Drug Campaigns
The Lieutenant Governor suggested that the next edition of the Big Impact Awards should also recognise the contribution of the farming community, saying farmers play a vital role in Jammu and Kashmir’s economy.
He also urged 92.7 Big FM to launch awareness drives in support of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The event was attended by Vikrant Sharma, Cluster Head of 92.7 Big FM, Gaurav Mahajan, National Marketing Head of the network, RJ Juhie, senior officials and prominent citizens from different walks of life.
