“No vehicular movement shall be permitted from Jammu towards Ramban, Banihal or Srinagar and vice versa on NH-44 till the highway is cleared,” an official said.

Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and avoid undertaking journeys on the highway until further notice.

Traffic police also urged people not to pay attention to rumours and to rely only on official updates regarding road status.

The officials said that for assistance and real-time updates, commuters can contact Traffic Control Units (TCUs) in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban or follow official social media handles of the traffic department.
