Casual labourers lock PDD sub-division Ganderbal, demand regularization

Ganderbal, July 27: Scores of PDD daily wagers today locked the PDD sub-division transmission office here to protest against the department for delaying the process of forwarding list of daily wagers, who they aid have served the department for more than seven years.

The protesters alleged that the officials of the PDD department are deliberately withholding lists of daily rated employees, who deserve to be regularized, only to adjust blue-eyed casual laborers.

President of PDD casual laborers union Ganderbal said, “Regular employees of the sub-division are creating hurdles in submission of casual laborers’ list to higher authorities for the regularization process.”

“From last eight years we are working as casual laborers. Nearly ten employees have got handicapped while working in Ganderbal sub- division but the government is being apathetic towards us.”

The protesters demanded that the list of nearly 700 casual employees in the Sub -division transmission Ganderbal should be forwarded to higher authorities on fast track basis.

The protesters also appealed the governor to intervene into the matter.
