Pulwama, July 27: A Bio-entrepreneurship summit was held by GloBiL’s Agri & Food Enterprises at its inaugural function at Industrial Growth Centre, Lassipora today.

Many noted economists, agricultural scientists, entrepreneurs and hundreds of students from various universities of the Valley attended the inaugural function.

Experts and officials from Entrepreneurship Development Institute J&K, Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, National Institute of Technology Srinagar, TC College Pune, SSM College of Engineering & Technology and Islamic University of Science & Technology J&K  attended the event.

During the interaction the experts dwelt on the issues affecting the industry and entrepreneurship in the state and emphasized on the need for free enterprise especially in the valley of Kashmir.

Two MoU’s were signed by GloBil’s with TC College Pune and CSIR-IIIM for sharing the knowledge with the newly set-up industrial business.

“Kashmir has a lot of potential given its climate, soil, forests and fruits. It is only for the youth to turn to entrepreneurship so as to harness these resources,” said Dr Ram A Vishwakarma, Director Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine.

“People drop the idea of getting into entrepreneurship with the thinking that setting up an industry will require lakhs of rupees. This thinking is not entirely based on facts. There are start-ups which require just few thousand rupees. One needs to have a resolve to succeed”, Prof. S. M. Ilyas, former Vice Chancellor NDUAST.

“The event was basically targeted at people with specialization in life sciences to convince them for entrepreneurship” said Shabir Ahmed, from GloBiL’s Agri & Food Enterprises.

“Our objective is to set up an industry in Kashmir to cater to the prospective entrepreneurs as a consultancy and provide end-to-end solutions so that they do not fall in the abyss of red tape and other hassles”, he added.

Witnessing the mass success of the event, the organizers have decided to discuss making this an annual event.
