Srinagar: Residents of Tangmarg and its adjoining areas have raised concern over frequent power outages during Sehri hours, saying the recurring disruptions are causing inconvenience during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan.
Locals said that the early morning outages have made it difficult for families to prepare Sehri meals and carry out routine activities, with the situation becoming a regular occurrence rather than an isolated incident. Many also noted that the interruptions affect those engaged in prayers during late-night and pre-dawn hours.
“The power cuts during Sehri have become routine. It is particularly challenging during Ramadan when electricity is essential at odd hours,” a resident said.
The issue had also come to the fore on the night of Laylat al-Qadr, further highlighting the problem. However, residents stressed that the concern goes beyond a single occasion and reflects a persistent issue in the area.
They have urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply during Sehri timings, especially in view of the ongoing fasting month, so that people do not continue to face difficulties.
