Srinagar/Jammu: Senior Army commanders on Tuesday carried out comprehensive reviews of the security situation in Kashmir and operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu, with both officers lauding troops for their high morale, professionalism, and readiness.
Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited units and formations deployed in the hinterland as part of the counter-terrorism grid in the Kashmir Valley. During the visit, commanders on the ground briefed him on the current operational dynamics, intelligence fusion, and synergy among sister agencies.
“Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited units and formations deployed in the hinterland in counter-terrorism grid in the Kashmir Valley to review the security situation,” the Army’s Northern Command said in a post on X.
The Army Commander was also briefed at the Joint Control Centre in Budgam on coordinated efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security in the Valley. He complimented the troops for maintaining a high state of morale and preparedness, the Army added.
Meanwhile, in Jammu, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, along with the GOC of the Crossed Swords Division, visited forward areas along the LoC in the Akhnoor sector to review operational preparedness.
“He interacted with troops deployed on the LoC and was briefed on measures undertaken to strengthen defences and enhance operational effectiveness,” the Army’s White Knight Corps said in a post on X.
Lt Gen Mishra commended all ranks for their high morale, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to duty.
The Army said the LoC remains a zone where technology, tactics, and tenacity converge, adding that forces continue to remain alert and dominant, ensuring an impenetrable and secure frontier.
The visit to the Akhnoor sector comes a week after the Army foiled an infiltration bid in the nearby Nowshera sector, killing a Pakistani terrorist.
