Jammu: A state-of-the-art executive waiting lounge has come up at the Srinagar railway station, offering passengers a premium and comfortable waiting experience with modern facilities, officials said on Wednesday.

The initiative has been taken on the direction of Jammu Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar, as part of the railways’ ongoing efforts to enhance passenger services and amenities at stations, a spokesman said.

The newly developed executive waiting lounge at Srinagar railway station is now fully functional, providing passengers travelling to and from the valley with comfortable waiting area, he said.

Featuring modern interiors, comfortable seating and enhanced passenger amenities, the facility aims to ensure a pleasant experience for commuters waiting for their trains, he said.

“Key facilities include Wi-Fi connectivity, dining options and a calm, well-maintained environment”.

According to officials, the lounge is equipped with 14 recliner sofas where passengers can relax at a nominal charge of Rs 50 per hour per person.

For families and group travellers, 50 two-seater sofa seats have also been provided, available at a fee of Rs 20 per hour per person, he added.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal said the lounge has been designed to provide a premium experience to passengers.

“This lounge features modern furnishings and a serene atmosphere, offering passengers an executive experience away from the hustle and bustle of the station. The initiative will provide world-class comfort to tourists and local passengers travelling to and from Kashmir,” he said.
