Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) on Thursday organised a three-day Women Painters’ Camp at Kala Kendra, Jammu, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, to mark the celebrations of International Women’s Day.

Secretary JKAACL Harvinder Kour inaugurated the painting camp. In her address, she said the initiative aims to highlight the various dimensions of women’s lives through creative art and provide a platform for women artists to express their thoughts, experiences and perspectives through painting.
She noted that such programmes help promote artistic talent and encourage meaningful dialogue through visual expression, while strengthening the region’s cultural landscape.
Kour also appreciated the participation of prominent women artists in the camp and expressed confidence that their creative works would reflect the spirit of the theme.
Among others present on the occasion were Additional Secretaries of the Academy Sonali Arun Gupta and Lal Chand, and Chief Editor Javaid Rahi.
