Antique coins recovered from Pinglish Tral: Police

Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have recovered 694 antique coins from the Pinglish area of Tral during a routine operation. The recovered items are believed to be of significant historical and archaeological value, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.

He said the recovered antique coins were kept in safe custody under the supervision of the SHO Police Station Tral. Subsequently, coordination was established with the Directorate of Archives, Archaeology & Museums to facilitate scientific handling and preservation in accordance with established archaeological norms, police said.
