ADDC Budgam reviews implementation of State, Centrally sponsored schemes

BUDGAM, JULY 25: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Budgam Khurshid Ahmad Sanai today urged various line departments to hold a joint mega awareness programme of of State, Centrally sponsored schemes in a sustained manner so that the people can avail the benefits of the schemes.

These remarks were made by the ADDC while chairing a meeting with district officers at New Conference Hall in Budgam.

Among others, the meeting was attended by CPO Abdul Rasheed and district and sectoral officers from Health, PHE, Education and other line departments.

The ADDC took department wise stock of implementation of state and centrally sponsored schemes.

The ADDC asked the education department to ensure that there is no paucity of staff and ensure timely completion of syllabus. Further he directed them to ensure that separate toilets and drinking water facility is provided in all schools in letter and spirit. Further he directed them to ensure coverage of any school left out through SBM.

Concerned officials were directed to ensure the implementation of government approved rate list and asked to take stringent action against the shopkeepers, wholesale dealers and traders violating the rate list.

Asserting on the organic production of vegetables, fruits and other crops, the ADDC urged the concerned to involve farmers in vermi composting. He directed concerned to ensure timely vaccination of cattle and sheep and to take proactive steps to avoid outbreak of foot and mouth disease among the livestock.

The ADDC asked social welfare department authorities to ensure timely clearance of all cases and asked Tehsil Social Welfare Officers to conduct door to door survey and verify the list of beneficiaries to weed out fake and illegal cases.

Further the ADDC directed the Mining and Geology authorities to implement the laws and rules in vogue in letter and spirit. Similar directions were passed on to the Legal Metrology authorities.

Besides an in-depth review of working of fisheries, sericulture, and handicrafts, handloom and cooperatives department was also taken. The ADDC underscored the potential of these departments to create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth and asked them to work in mission mode.
