Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar today called upon the administration to ensure comprehensive and timely arrangements for the smooth observance of the forthcoming holy month of Ramazan across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued here at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Sagar emphasized that Ramazan is a month of immense spiritual significance for the Muslim community, marked by fasting, prayers, charity, and reflection. He urged the concerned departments to put in place adequate measures well in advance to facilitate the people and prevent any inconvenience during the sacred month.

He stressed the need for uninterrupted power and potable water supply, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours. The General Secretary also called for ensuring the availability of essential commodities, including food grains, cooking gas, meat, poultry, fruits, and vegetables, at reasonable prices. He urged market checking squads to remain vigilant against hoarding and black marketing so that consumers are not exploited.

Sagar further appealed to the authorities to streamline traffic management, especially around major mosques and shrines, to ensure smooth movement of worshippers during Taraweeh prayers. He also highlighted the importance of sanitation drives in and around religious places, markets, and residential areas, urging municipal bodies to maintain cleanliness and proper waste disposal.
