Akhnoor/Jammu: Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, paid heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the heinous Pulwama attack, remembering their supreme sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the nation.
J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, accompanied by MLA Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Vikram Randhawa, MLA Mohan Lal Bhagat, District Prabhari Vinay Gupta, District President Kuldeep Sharma, former VC Daljit Chib, and other senior leaders, paid homage to the martyrs at Akhnoor. Floral tributes were offered, and a moment of silence was observed to honour the fallen heroes.
Later, Sat Sharma, along with MLA Yudhvir Sethi, MLA Vikram Randhawa, District Prabhari Brijeshwar Singh Rana, and BJP District President Jammu Adv Rajesh Gupta, paid tributes at the BJP office, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma said that the sacrifice of the Pulwama martyrs will forever remain etched in the nation’s memory. He said that the brave sons of Mother India laid down their lives while protecting the sovereignty of our country. Their sacrifice strengthens our resolve to eradicate terrorism from its roots.
He said that the nation stands united in gratitude and pride, and under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has sent a clear message that terrorism will not be tolerated. He further asserted that gone are the days of weak responses, as today’s decisive government has empowered the armed forces to act firmly against terror and those who support it. He added that the BJP remains committed to national security and the welfare of the armed forces and their families.
Yudhvir Sethi said that the martyrs are a symbol of courage and patriotism, inspiring generations to serve the nation selflessly. He asked for a collective pledge to uphold the ideals for which the martyrs sacrificed their lives.
Vikram Randhawa remarked that the nation will never forget the sacrifice of its brave soldiers and that their martyrdom has further strengthened India’s fight against terrorism.
Mohan Lal Bhagat said that paying tribute to the martyrs is not just a ritual but a solemn duty of every citizen.
At Akhnoor, Kuldeep Sharma conducted the proceedings and emphasized unity against forces that threaten national integrity.
At Jammu, Adv Rajesh Gupta led the programme and reiterated the party’s unwavering commitment to honour the sacrifices of the armed forces.
