Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department’s pavilion emerged as a major attraction at OTM Mumbai-2026, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, from February 5 to 7, officials said.
The department participated in the three-day travel and trade exhibition with an elaborate pavilion showcasing the region’s tourism potential, culture and heritage. According to officials, the participation received an encouraging response from national and international exhibitors, travel professionals and tourism stakeholders.
Under the leadership of Director Tourism Kashmir, Syed Qamar Sajad (JKAS), the pavilion achieved significant visibility during the event. Officials from the J&K Tourist Office Mumbai also remained actively engaged throughout the exhibition, interacting with exhibitors and holding meetings with trade representatives and stakeholders.
The pavilion, designed around the theme of Kashmir’s scenic beauty and cultural heritage, attracted heavy footfall. Besides the main stall, branding at the International Pavilion and exclusive lanyard promotion generated considerable interest among visitors and delegates.
Several visitors and tourism stakeholders held detailed interactions with the officials and sought information about destinations, connectivity, tourism infrastructure and upcoming travel opportunities in Jammu and Kashmir.
The showcase included virtual reality (VR) experiences of major tourist destinations, interactive trade meetings and cultural displays. Traditional Kashmiri handicrafts, including papier-mâché items, and classical musical instruments were also displayed, adding cultural appeal to the pavilion.
Co-exhibitors representing the tourism sector from Jammu and Kashmir expressed satisfaction over the marketing outreach, pavilion design and networking opportunities created during the event.
Officials expressed hope that the response at OTM Mumbai-2026 would translate into increased tourist inflow to the Union Territory in the upcoming travel season.
