An official said Raj is a hardcore criminal and has been booked under PSA after obtaining formal detention orders from the District Magistrate, Jammu.

“Multiple FIRs are already registered against the criminal in different police stations in Jammu,” he said.

In order to refrain the subject from criminal activities, a dossier under PSA was recommended against him and forwarded to District Magistrate Jammu, who issued a PSA warrant against him, the official said.

He said the locals of the area have highly appreciated the efforts of the police in curbing criminal activities.

“Police is committed to ensuring the safety and security of people and all necessary measures are being taken to curb criminal activities, including drug peddling and organised crime in the region,” the official said. (PTI)
