Srinagar: Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma on Monday termed the Lieutenant Governor’s address, which he said reflected the ruling NC government’s policies and vision, as “disappointing.”

Sharma, according to the KNO, said: “The document prepared by the NC government and read by the Lieutenant Governor lacked vision, roadmap and commitment towards key issues, particularly unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir.”

He said the LG’s address and the documents he read reflected the ruling government’s policies and vision but offers “nothing substantial” for the common people.

LoP Sharma alleged that the “document lacks a roadmap to tackle the growing unemployment crisis and fails to outline plans for other vulnerable groups, including women and senior citizens.

“There is no plan for women, no policy for the elderly and nothing for the unemployed. This document merely repeats the government’s rhetoric,” he said.

Criticising the Chief Minister’s remarks in Budget document, discussed during the session, Sharma questioned the government’s earlier commitments.

“I was disappointed when the CM mentioned his commitment of 200 units of free electricity. Where are those 200 units? Where are the 12 free LPG cylinders? Where are the one lakh jobs per year? These are all false promises and hollow claims,” he asked.

The Leader of Opposition added that the overall address and the budget together “reflect nothing but disappointment for every section of society.”
