LEH: Lieutenant Governor on Saturday extended heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to the people of the Union Territory of Ladakh on the eve of the 77th Republic Day, calling upon citizens to reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of the Constitution and work collectively for a peaceful, prosperous and progressive Ladakh.
In his message, the Lieutenant Governor paid rich tributes to the visionary leaders and framers of the Indian Constitution, whose wisdom, courage and sacrifices laid the foundation of a sovereign, democratic, socialist, secular republic. He said the constitutional values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity continue to guide India’s progress and strengthen its democratic ethos.
The LG lauded the contribution of farmers, workers, teachers, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, artisans, artists, students, youth, women and members of civil society, stating that their dedication and resilience are central to promoting inclusive development and social harmony in Ladakh.
Expressing deep gratitude to the Armed Forces, paramilitary forces and the Ladakh Police, the Lieutenant Governor said their unwavering commitment to safeguarding borders and ensuring peace and stability in the strategically important region inspires confidence among citizens and upholds the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
He also acknowledged the vital role of the civil administration in delivering efficient, transparent and people-centric governance. The LG appreciated their efforts in implementing developmental programmes, strengthening public service delivery and reaching remote areas of Ladakh.
Calling for renewed resolve and collective determination, the Lieutenant Governor urged all stakeholders to work towards transforming Ladakh into a model of sustainable development, environmental stewardship and economic prosperity. He stressed the need to strengthen infrastructure and promote renewable energy, eco-tourism, organic farming, education, healthcare and skill development, while preserving Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage and fragile ecosystem.Highlighting the role of youth and women, the LG said young people must be equipped with modern education, digital skills and entrepreneurial opportunities to emerge as future leaders. He also emphasized empowering women and marginalised sections of society by ensuring equal opportunities for their overall development.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor appealed to the people to reaffirm their faith in constitutional values and dedicate themselves to building a peaceful and prosperous Ladakh, contributing meaningfully to a strong and developed India. Jai Hind!
