Speaker J&K LA expresses grief over fire incident in village Doodkhatu

Directs district admin for immediate relief, rehabilitation to victims

JAMMU: Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather has expressed grief over loss of property and damage of houses due to the fire incident that broke out on Wednesday late night in village Doodkhatu of Tehsil Chrar-i- Sharief, district Budgam.

Showing his concern over the unfortunate incident, the Speaker, who is in Lucknow to attend the 86th All India Presiding Officers Conference (AIPOC)-2026, immediately directed the Administration to initiate necessary steps for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims.

The speaker exhorted that in view of harsh weather conditions, immediate relief in the form of temporary shelter, free rations, utensils, clothing and financial assistance shall be provided to the victims of fire incident to alleviate their sufferings.

He also directed the district administration to assess the loss of property occurred due to fire incident at the earliest.
