Srinagar: Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested in two separate operations in Budgam district, and over 4 kg of contraband was recovered from the accused, police said on Saturday.
The police in Budgam conducted operations in Magam and Hardpanzoo areas, leading to the recovery of significant quantities of illicit substances, a police spokesperson said.
He said in Magam, a police team arrested Rouf Ahmed Hajam, resident of Batpora, at Batpora Crossing, and recovered approximately 2.1 kg of cannabis-like substance from his possession.
At Bonizanigam village, two individuals — Irfan Ahmad Mir and Owais Ahmad Bhat — both residents of village Hardulatina, were arrested after a search of their persons led to the recovery of 2.185 kg of ground cannabis-like substance, police said. Cases have been registered and investigations initiated in both these instances.
