Power shutdown scheduled in several areas of Kashmir: KPDCL

Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) on Thursday announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across various parts of Kashmir to facilitate essential maintenance and repair works on several 33 kV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the shutdown of the 33 kV Khonmoh–Zawoora line will be observed on January 25, 2026, due to which power supply to Balhama, Wuyan, Munpora, parts of Khonmoh, and adjoining areas will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Similarly, a shutdown of the 33 kV Tapline of Tral 1st line from Nowda will be carried out on January 18 and 22, 2026, affecting power supply to Tral, Payeen, Devar, Kahlil, Tral Bala, Bajwani, and adjoining areas during the same time period.

Likewise, the 33 kV Chararipora Tapline of the Lassipora–Mitrigam line will remain under shutdown on January 19, 2026, resulting in power disruption in Chararipora, Pakherpora, Kamrazipora, and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The Chief Engineer further informed that the 33 kV Sangam-II line will be shut down on January 19 and 22, 2026, affecting electricity supply to Siamoh, K-Koot, Kaigam, Hariparigam, Chakoora, Gulzarpora, Panzgam, Railway areas, and adjoining localities during the scheduled hours.

Additionally, shutdown of the 33 kV Pampore–Khrew line will be observed on January 24 and 27, 2026, impacting power supply to Shar, Wahab Sahib, Bathan, and adjoining areas.

Similarly, the 33 kV Pampore–Lethpora line will remain shut on January 19 and 21, 2026, affecting Samboora, Lethpora, CRPF Lethpora, Ladhoo, Konibal, Chandhara, LIS, and adjoining areas.

The 33 kV Pampore–SIDCO line will also remain under shutdown on January 18, 2026, during which power supply to Industrial Estate Khrew, Wuyan, and Cement Plants will be affected from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Meanwhile, shutdown of the 33 kV Nihalpora–Gulmarg line has been scheduled on January 19 and 24, 2026, leading to power disruption in Reram, Chandilora, Watnoo, Tangmarg, Kralweth, Mulgam, Ferozpora, Katipora, Rangawali, Kulhama, Shai, Buderkoot, Gulmarg, Khyber, Chandil, Wanigam, Malgam, Malpora, and adjoining areas during the stipulated hours.

KPDCL has advised consumers to make necessary arrangements in advance and has regretted the inconvenience caused due to the essential maintenance works.
