JAMMU: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, today met a delegation of Village Level Workers (VLWs), who called on him to express their sincere gratitude for approval of their long pending demand for pay upgradation from Level-2 to Level-4.
The VLWs hailed the decision as a historic and long-awaited step that has significantly boosted their morale and acknowledged their tireless efforts at the grassroots level. They stated that upgradation is a meaningful recognition of the dedication, commitment and crucial role played by VLWs in implementation of government schemes and delivery of services in rural areas.
Interacting with the delegation, the Minister congratulated the VLWs on the approval of their demand and lauded their contribution towards rural development, agriculture extension and strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions. He emphasized that the government remains committed to the welfare of employees besides ensuring that their genuine concerns are addressed in a timely and fair manner.
Javid Dar further stated that Village Level Workers form the backbone of rural administration and development, acting as a vital link between the government and the people. He reiterated that the present dispensation values hard work, sincerity and dedication and will continue to take progressive decisions aimed at empowering the employees and improving governance at the grassroots.
The delegation thanked the Minister for his proactive approach and sustained efforts in resolving their long-standing issue, expressing hope that the decision would further motivate VLWs to work with renewed zeal and dedication in the service of the people.
