Leh: Various delegations called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat today, discussing industrial initiatives, infrastructure, cultural preservation, social welfare, and economic opportunities.
A delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) met with the Lieutenant Governor and submitted their demands.
Mudh village residents also highlighted their issues.
Similarly, His Eminence Palga Rinpoche apprised Lt Governor of the Chokyong Palga Charitable Institute Ladakh, registered in 2001-02 with around 300 members, the ongoing Naljorling monastery construction, and plans for an old-age home/orphanage. He shared his vision to empower youth and guide them on the righteous path.
Voice of Buddhist Ladakh delegates urged the Lt Governor’s intervention to apprise the Ministry of Home Affairs of Ladakh’s immediate needs for protecting its rich cultural heritage.
The Lt Governor highlighted UT Administration’s welfare focus on healthcare, education, and livelihoods. He promoted Ladakh as a prime filmmaking destination to boost local economies, pledging meetings with filmmakers for shoots. “The Administration is committed to the people’s welfare,” he stated, adding plans to bring Buddha’s relics to Ladakh via a formal application to the Ministry of Culture.
