Scheduled power shutdowns announced in Sgr and Budgam

Srinagar: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns on various 33 kV lines to facilitate maintenance and allied works.

The shutdowns will temporarily disrupt electricity supply in several areas of Srinagar and Budgam districts on different dates in January 2026.

According to KPDCL, the 33 kV Habbak–Zakura line will remain shut on January 4, 2026, resulting in the suspension of power supply from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in Danihama, Khimber, Teilbal, Burzhama, Shopperbagh, Rahbagh, Batpora, Zakura, Gulabagh, and adjoining areas.

Similarly, a shutdown of the 33 kV Rawalpora–Bagh-i-Mehtab line will be observed on January 3 and January 7, 2026, affecting electricity supply from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in Bagh-i-Mehtab, Old Mochwa, Kralpora, New Mochwa, and surrounding localities.

The 33 kV Nowbugh–Nagam line will also undergo scheduled shutdowns on January 3, 6, and 10, 2026, during which power supply will remain affected from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Kakawring, Yousmarg, Charar-i-Sharief, Hayatpora, Nagam, Badipora, Hafroo, Loolipora, Watkaloo, Gogjipathri, and adjoining areas.

Additionally, shutdowns of the 33 kV Nowbugh–Chadoora line are planned on January 3, 6, and 10, 2026, impacting electricity supply from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Sogam, Repora, Dawlatpora, Panzan, Lalgam, Chadoora, Wathoora, Bugam, Gadsathoo, Kathairgund, and nearby areas.

KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to the essential maintenance work.
