Shopian: A casual labourer associated with the Power Development Department was injured after falling from an electricity pole while on duty in the Arhama area of Shopian on Tuesday, officials said.
The injured has been identified as Qaism Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Yousuf Wani, a resident of Bongam Shopian. Officials said the incident occurred while the labourer was working on an electricity pole, during which he lost balance and fell to the ground, sustaining injuries.
Soon after the incident, he was rushed to the District Hospital Shopian for immediate medical attention. However, considering the nature of his injuries, doctors referred him to the SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment.
Medicos said the condition of the injured labourer is being monitored in the Intensive Care Unit. (KNT)
