J&K Thang-Ta team secures overall second position at Junior Nationals

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Thang-Ta team delivered an impressive performance at the 31st Junior National Thang-Ta Championship 2025, held in Guwahati, Assam, by securing the overall second position in the prestigious national event.

Competing against top teams from across the country, the J&K contingent showcased exceptional skill, discipline, and fighting spirit, clinching a total of 30 medals, including 11 gold, 11 silver, and 8 bronze. The strong medal tally underlined the team’s consistent performance across various weight categories and events.

Officials of the Jammu & Kashmir Thang-Ta Association attributed the success to the rigorous training, commitment, and teamwork of the athletes, coaches, and support staff, who represented the Union Territory with pride on the national stage.

The Association also expressed gratitude to the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council for its continuous support, encouragement, and guidance, stating that the backing provided by the Council played a crucial role in achieving the milestone.

The achievement has been hailed as a proud moment for the sporting fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir and is expected to serve as a strong source of inspiration for young martial artists aspiring to excel in Thang-Ta at the national and international levels.

The J&K Thang-Ta Association congratulated the entire team on the historic achievement and wished the players continued success in future competitions.
