Rana assures time-bound redress of public grievances

JAMMU: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology, Environment & Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, today met several deputations and individuals at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, to listen to their concerns and grievances.

MLAs Bashir Ahmad Veeri and Payare Lal Sharma also met the Minister and raised certain developmental issues related to their respective constituencies.

During the interactions, the Minister gave a patient hearing to a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including representatives of the PHE Daily Wagers Union, contractors associated with the Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) Department, employees of the Social Forestry Department and members of the general public.

The representatives of the PHE Daily Wagers Union raised issues pertaining to regularisation of services, release of pending wages and other service-related concerns. Contractors of the I&FC Department brought to the fore issues related to timely payments, tendering procedures, and smooth execution of development works.

Employees of the Social Forestry Department apprised the Minister of the challenges faced in the field. They stressed the need for strengthening the forestry and conservation activities.

Several deputations and individuals also highlighted grievances related to drinking water supply, flood control and mitigation measures, protection and conservation of forest resources and other sector-specific issues

Assuring all deputations of prompt and fair action, Rana stated that every issue raised would be examined and addressed in a time-bound manner. He directed the concerned departmental officers to take immediate note of the grievances and initiate necessary steps to ensure their early redressal.

Emphasizing transparency and accountability in governance, Rana stated that the administration is committed towards creating a responsive and people-centric system, where legitimate demands of both the workforce and the general public are addressed efficiently and within stipulated timelines.
