SRINAGAR Joint Director Information Kashmir, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, today expressed deep sorrow and profound grief over the demise of Abdul Ahad Farhad, a renowned poet, writer and noted broadcaster, terming his passing as an irreparable loss to the literary and cultural heritage of Kashmir.
In this connection, a condolence meeting was held at the office of the Joint Director Information Kashmir, which was attended by officers and officials of the department.
The participants recalled the invaluable contributions of the late Abdul Ahad Farhad to Kashmiri literature and culture and paid rich tributes to his enduring literary legacy. They also remembered his famous and gentle voice, which resonated in almost every household through Radio Kashmir and All India Radio, leaving a lasting impression on generations of listeners.
Abdul Ahad Farhad was remembered as a mentor and a father-like guide to many journalists and media professionals. He was widely admired for his humility, kindness, deep knowledge, and lifelong dedication to the preservation and promotion of the Kashmiri language, Sufi traditions, and cultural heritage.
The Joint Director Information Kashmir conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
