Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have attached a double-storey residential house at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to “notorious” drug peddler.
Built on eight marlas of land, the house belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, son of Bilal Ahmad Dar, resident of Wantpora, Eidgah, Srinagar, is valued at approximately ₹1 crore, a police spokesperson informed.
He said Dar is involved in case FIR No. 59/2024 under Sections 8/21 NDPS Act of Police Station Nowhatta and FIR No. 114/2025 under Sections 8/22–29 of NDPS Act of Police Station Safakadal.
The attachment was carried out under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During investigation, “it was established that the accused Basit Bilal Dar had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities. Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures,” police said.
As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the said property till further orders.
