Satish Sharma meets deputations; reiterates govt’s commitment to people-centric governance

SRINAGAR: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, today met several deputations at Srinagar and had extensive interaction with them to take stock of their concerns, demands and developmental aspirations.

The deputations highlighted a range of issues related to public service delivery, availability of essential commodities, strengthening of transport infrastructure, improvement in IT-enabled services, promotion of sports activities and welfare measures for youth. Besides, matters concerning local infrastructure, employment opportunities, consumer welfare and effective implementation of government schemes were also raised.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to each delegation and assured them that all their genuine concerns would be examined and addressed in a timely manner. He emphasised that regular public outreach and direct engagement with the citizens form the cornerstone of effective governance.

Reiterating the government’s firm resolve towards people-centric and transparent governance, Satish Sharma said that the present administration is committed to ensuring that the policies and programmes are aligned with the real needs of the people.

The Minister stressed the importance of leveraging technology to improve the efficiency and transparency in service delivery, particularly in sectors like food supplies, transport and information technology. He also highlighted the government’s focus on empowering the youth through enhanced sports infrastructure, skill development initiatives and increased opportunities for participation at the district, state and national levels.
