Leh: An Inquiry Commission headed by Justice Dr. B. S. Chauhan, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, constituted to conduct a comprehensive and impartial probe into the incident that occurred on September 24 in Leh, will begin recording oral statements from December 19.
The Commission has already completed the preliminary stage of the inquiry by collecting and examining written proceedings and statements submitted earlier. As part of the next phase, officials and officers who were deployed on duty on the day of the incident will be summoned to appear before the Commission to record their oral statements.
Additionally, individuals who have already submitted written statements will also be asked to present themselves before the Commission to depose in person and place their oral testimony on record before Justice Dr. B. S. Chauhan.
The inquiry aims to establish a clear and factual account of the events surrounding the incident, while ensuring transparency, accountability, and adherence to due process.
