Young Karate champions meet DC Baramulla

BARAMULLA: The young karate champions of Amin Karate Academy today called on the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, to express their gratitude for the support and facilities provided by the district administration, which played a key role in their success at the 5th UT-level J&K Karate Championship.

The championship was held at the Indoor Stadium, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, on December 9 and 10, and witnessed participation from across the Union Territory. The team from Amin Karate Academy delivered an outstanding performance, securing a total of 6 Gold, 6 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal, bringing laurels to Baramulla district.

Among the notable performers was 8-year-old Numaan Malik, a Class 3 student, who emerged as one of the youngest participants to clinch double gold medals at the championship, reflecting exceptional talent and dedication at a young age.

During the interaction, the young players and their coach Amin Karate, thanked the DC for facilitating access to training infrastructure, particularly the practice space provided at the Indoor Stadium Baramulla, which greatly contributed to their preparation and performance.

Minga Sherpa congratulated the children on their remarkable achievement and appreciated their discipline, perseverance, and sporting spirit, assuring continued support from the district administration for nurturing young talent.

“It is heartening to see our young athletes excel at the UT level and make Baramulla proud. Their success reflects both hard work and the effective use of facilities made available to them,” the DC said.
