Srinagar: Eight persons were injured on Friday after a cab skidded off the road in the Garkote area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Quoting officials, news agency GNS reported that a vehicle (JK05-7331), was travelling from Uri towards Kaller when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer from one side of the road to the other, leaving eight persons injured.
The injured persons, identified as Iftikhar Ahmad Naik, Gulzar Ahmad Naik, Sajad Ahmad Naik, Sadiq Ahmad, Mubeena Bano, Gh Nabi Naik, Manzoor Ahmad Naik, and Mohd Ashraf Malik, were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Uri for primary treatment.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Uri, Dr Balvinder Singh confirmed that all the injured were stable. “Three are being referred to GMC Baramulla for CT Scan investigations and further evaluation as some have complaints related to head injuries,” he said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident.
