Commissioner Secy PDD reviews power scenario under EGSA at Baramulla

BARAMULLA, JULY 20: Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department (PDD), Hirdesh Kumar today chaired a meeting to review the power scenario and the implementation of related schemes and programmes in the district that comes in the purview of Extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (EGSA) under centrally sponsored “Aspirational Districts” programme.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer PDD, Hashmat Ali, Chief Engineer System & Operation Muzaffar Ahmad Matoo, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bashir Ahmad Bhat, SEs, Executive Engineers, AEEs, JEs and other officers.

On the occasion, Executive Engineer PDD division Baramulla briefed the chair about the status of implementation of various programmes including centrally sponsored SUBGHAYA and UJALA schemes. He said that under Subaghaya out of the target of 279 villages comprising 98954 households, 91714 have been covered thereby making a saturation of 46%. He also informed the Secretary about the initiatives taken by the department to cover the target with in stipulated time.

Commissioner Secretary, speaking on the occasion stressed upon the concerned to provide uninterrupted power supply to the people during the schedule hours. He emphasized for developing power infrastructure so as to streamline its supply more especially in the coming winter season. Moreover, he directed the concerned to cover all the remaining households under both the Subaghaya and UJALA schemes besides setting deadlines for the same.
